About Me:: I've been clean a while (since aug 2002), but I had a problem with drugs and booze, pot in particular. I also have ADHD, and take medicine for it. I like auto racing, plus birding and other nature stuff.

Looking for?: My wife is going through a rough time with psychiatric issues, and I need somewhere to vent about it.I also have some issue that i deal with pretty much constantly, too. Keeping connected to other sober people keeps me sober and somewhat sane.

A new kitty and things are looking up!

About a week ago a new kitty showed up at our apartment! We think a neighbor abandoned it, and we're going throgh all the bureaucratic nonsense to adopt him.He is the sweetest cat ever, and besides being skinny from not being fed properly for a few days is in good health.

In other news my wife is feeling a lot better because the psychiatrist changed her meds. She's on klonopin in addition to her other meds, and it seems to help a lot. I have mixed feelings about benzo's but I guess a l… Continue

Long story short, I'm dating somebody who has had some real traumatic experiences.

* Did hard drugs in high school. (I would probably find being under the influence of cocaine/heroin pretty traumatic because I don't even like being drunk.)
* Pregnancy in teens, had the baby.
* Baby died at 7 months. Probably due to drug use.
* Raped at some point. Suffered from PTSD.

First Post!

Hi! I'm back (again).. some of you might know me from chat. I'm pretty horrible at making regular chat meetings, so I figured I'd join here, where I can keep up with things easier.
It's easier to be supportive when I have time to think, and am not just freaking out over the day's drama...

I've indulged in Marijuana use for 35yrs. All I cared about was gettin high in between life. A lot of people think of it as a kid's disorder, but most people that have it don't grow out of it. I was never treated as a child, so I had a hard time performing consistently in school, and ended up getting into booze and drugs for relief, instead of proper treatment.
