...and it could be my least liked time of year.
The day count stands at 2626. That's 7y 2m 10d.
Why the least? got a list...
...my first marriage dissolved December 1982 (divorce final 02/1983)
I disappeared big time into booze and drugs.
...my father passed away 12/11/1992. A little more than a year before he had rescued me from what was probably my "bottom" in addictions, though I hung on to the booze for another eight years. Some could say my recovery cou…

I'm gradually fitting in at the job. I basically know how to get the work out, the details are just too many and varied to hold in the brain at present. The Egyptian who "trained" me (a cultural barrier there resulted in me mostly training myself) is going to take a few days off and I'll be working with the newer-than-me guy that started last week. Should be interesting. Ehab the Egyptian will be back for the heavy volume at month-end and I'll draw some extra hours (note I didn't say overtime…

Cruising toward 6 yrs and 10 months...
This month has been a bit busy... as mentioned last time, I spent a weekend in Indiana with the siblings. Flew out Friday afternoon (6/15) and Friday night was glorious, a "pickin' on the porch" jam. I'll try to get some pics up soon, saw somebody's bluegrass band pics. Who that be? Fess up... Saturday (the monthly anniversary) the gang went to Nashville (IN), did some more pickin' in a music store, and walked in the woods. Flew back Sunday.…

Today is 06/12/2007 and I'm rolling into 6 years and 9 months sober.
When that actually occurs (06/16/2007 @ 1800 EDT) I will be in Indiana at the annual gathering of the Phelps clan. That takes place at my preacher brother's home, as it did last year. It's a gathering of the children of Jack and Alpha - three of us scattered across the country - and it's been a restorative time for me and siblings every year.
When I return I start another short IT contract (four days at four di…

The only way to achieve anything
is to risk losing everything.
And even if you do, regret nothing.

How's the contract search going ???
"Hang in there" from someone else old enough to remember punching 80 column cards on, I think, an IBM 29 card punch console so that we could feed them into that all knowing and powerful IBM 360 that took up the whole first floor of the data center at college (circa 1974). Business major but we wre told that we had to learn that stuff 'cause it was the wave of the future.
That would qualify as a huge understatement.
Peace,
Paul
You're my hero; more than 6 years in.
