Here I am after a 5 day binge. I look back and I cringe. My 11 year old son had a talk with me last night. He wants me to stop drinking. I want to stop like never before, those words he spoke were that of an open door. I have no right to destroy his livelihood. I don't want to continue the way that I have been. Hey Sylvia - the pills are working out fine. I have been clean now for 3 wks maybe - i find that when shit happens that is when i want to cover the feelings and mask the pain but you know u can survive it sober - it don't feel like it at the time but you do and i feel so much better coming out of it with clear thinking and knowing i lived after all. "From the ashes and fallen below the Phoenix always rises again to fly onto another day and place! Keep the faith Sylvia and keep in touch. Do you ever go to the chat rooms? take care - doing good over here - as a matter of fact going on a short trip to NY tomorrow with my 7 month old side kick - christian. Will write when i come back home.
how is it going for you these days - i am on the pill and no adverse reactions at this time to report. the only one i foresee is if i pick up and drink - but i am watchful or the food i intake as well - have to be sure nothing in there as well - but at this point all is going good - it is working. hope u r doing well - drop me a line.
what i have heard from others is it really helped them. What it mostly is is psychological therapy - in the sense that if you know you are going to get seriously, deathly emergency room needed sick then you will think twice before taking that drink. Something else is that it takes time to enter your system about 2 wks and that much time to leave once you have stopped. Did your psych say why not to perscription? Sometimes meetings just aren't enough. That is why i am thinking about stepping it up a notch - just for the support. If i do decide to take the pill i will let you know what the out come is and visa versa. Take Sylvia.

We would love to get more meetings going in Vancouver. If I lived there they would be happening more often but unfortaunatley I am in Victoria where I am setting up new ones.
