BTW, I liked your restatement of the Serenity Prayer -- have been thinking lately about what Aldous Huxley had to say about human temperament, and how two-thirds of us just aren't capable of the kind of sudden, dramatic religious conversion that the noisier one-third insist upon as an absolute necessity. Not to put the knock on what works for those for whom it works; but the outcome can get pretty miserable for the rest of us. It turns out Huxley was well acquainted with Bill Wilson; too bad they never got past that particular disconnect.
