Again, what a great book. I also suggest the book 'The Power of Now' by Ekhart Tolle. Very simple. Eye-opening.

About the ACDC, I know it's hard to get amongst it without the booze factor. Just try lovey. Feeling hungover sucks, u know it. You say you like sex. My sex life has suffered because I am often too pissed to pay attention to the one person that would take his life, if it meant I would survive.

So be real, and keep up your intent to be a better person.

Sounds very familiar. I'm really scared. i was soooo great before I allowed someone to munipulate me and lie to me. It made me feel completely defeated! I know I can not pick up a drink! I'm trying to find some willingsness and hope again. i appreciate your sharing with me your pain as well. Welcome. Good for you. Two weeks is a great start. I managed one but have been a bit naughty this week as my partnet came home from being away and we celebrated with a meal out and one bottle of wine between us (which is good for me)! Unforunately, then it was Friady night, and I slipped into a couple more, and then it was Saturday. Thing is, I didn't go overboard, but the old abstinence thing did not work for me. I just dropped him at the airport so I will try to get back into my routine again - exersize etc after work, not head to the fridge.

It's a battle though isn't it. I too like heading out to see bands and it feels plain wierd to have non-alcoholic beverages and not get a buzz on like 90% of the audience.

Anyway, I have to go and se my counsellor now and fess up that I have been imbibing. I still think (maybe foolishly so) that if I can just moderate, I won't have all the health and relationship problems that come with absing alcohol. I mean, a romantic dinner without a bottle of wine. I can't relate. It's just a problem when we drink three or four, which we have managed to control.

Keep up the good work and do what you have to do to get a grip. Reward yourself when you do good and go easy on yourself.

About Me:: hello my name is roy and i ahve struggled to drink like normal people all my life, i used to go to A A for five years, and remained clean and sober for that period ,but life cicumstances change and i no longer wanted to live that life ,,i went to see live bands ,and drank my self into oblivion ..as you can guess it was not long before my health took a big nose dive,i started taking anti acid tablets then blood pressure tablets now i have just hasd a bad dose of gout ...guess you could say i am sick of tired of being sick and tired
