Hey lovely, a real quick one to say Hi (off to cooking classesd with Elizabeth!) & it was great to get your post :o)
I hope life's not too stressful at the mo. How you doing & feeling? xx
Hiya Fiona, Just dropping by to say Hello & see how you are. Whatcha been upto this weekend? I took Elizabeth to the beach (it's right on my doorstep, literally!) swimming along with my 14 yr old sister, was good to get in the sea & have a real good swim for a few hours. Hope to hear from you sn,Love H xxxx
Hey fiona, It's really nice to hear from you,I just wish you were feeling better about life. It's such a shit isn't it as when you're drinking you feel like crap cos you know you're an addict & you shouldn't be & when you're sober you feel deprived cos you can't drink & feel sorry for yourself! Well I know that's how I used to feel when I was trying to get sober. Bart has been giving me some sound advice & he's made me think of it this way 'I choose not to drink' instead of 'I cannot drink', this has been so empowering as I no longer feel 'Poor me, I can't have a drink with all my mates' I now know I can do whatever the fuck I wanna do! And that is to not drink.
Little boys are very different creatures to little girls & as I have a girl I have no tried & tested suggestions with how to interact with you 2 wee men. Will your youngest sit & do arts & craft with you? Elizabeth & I make collage's with pics' cut out of magazines, argos catalogue & use leaves, feathers, sequins for different textures & feels. What about getting some ballons & covering them with paper mache ready to paint, that's always good fun! Do your boys have games consoles? Elizabeth & I play Guitar Hero & Rock Band on the X-box & we also have a Playstation3 & Wii which we use together & with my hubby as a family. It's a good way to bond as you're working together as at team & it's wicked fun too :o)
Patience is something my husband has in spades but I struggle daily with being patient & i know it sounds twee & cliched but if I feel myself losing patience or getting cross I'll go make a cup of tea or just remove myself from the situation which is causing me distress.
You Do Not sound like you're whinging&moaning at all hun, fuck me you're a single mum to 2 young boys & you're struggling with addiction & waiting to go into rehab!!! I'd be screaming bloody murder from the top of my bleeding lungs if I were on my own at the mo, but you're not alone sweetheart as you have all of us here to help you whenever you need it. While waiting for rehab are you getting any help, councellor/antibuse etc?
Keep coming on here & have you thought about going to AA meetings? I'm seriously considering it as I think face to face meetings are going to be needed to keep me sober. You don't have to do the whole 12 steps if that's not your thing, just being around other's who know how you're feeling may help while you're waiting for your placement, just an idea. Good Luck Fiona, it's always lovely to get your messages. You're a Top Bird & don't forget it :o)

Hey there lovely lady, How you doing? I hope you are feeling better physically, it's such a strain on the body when you've been sober for quite a long time & then have a drink.
I hope you're being kind to yourself, there's no point whatsoever beating yourself up & feeling shitty cos you drank. Fuck me Fiona if I'd beaten myself up everytime I fell off the wagon I'd have beaten myself to death by now, 10 times over! Seriously though, I have no choice but to stay sober this time. Joe (my hubby) has had far too many times of me fucking off on a binge & leaving him & our daughter for a day, sometimes 2days at a time & the last time I did it he told me he will leave with our child if it happens again, he Really means it. I may as well be dead without them, I cannot & Will Not let my child have the legacy of an alcoholic parent like I did, my dad died aged 36 I'm 32 & I refuse to follow in his footsteps as I was doing till I became sober for good this time.
Your messages & comments in the past have always given me strength Fiona, you are a sound chick & obviously a devoted & wonderful loving mum. You've got many pple here to listen to you, I'll listen to anything&everything you wanna vent about & get off your chest, either on my profile wall or via private email. I may not be able to give you any advice but getting troublesome stuff out of your head is sometimes enough to make you feel 'lighter' & more positive.
Keep your chin up sweetie, you're a much liked member on here so we better not lose you now or in the future, ok?
Lots a Love, & treat yourself kindly for the next week or so. H xxxxx
I'm only 7 days sober & like you I find life can throw some nasty things in your direction & knock you off course while you're trying not to drink. I've found LifeRing a God Send & I've met some great pple here.
Good luck with your continued sobriety,I'll always listen if you want to vent or get something out of your head, better out than in :)
