Work co-dependency! Wow, what an idea. I have regrets about not "holding out" longer in Dallas, but, we will play this one by ear.

Fran, I'm single, so that's not a big deal. And, this other place would not be "ideal." But, it would be "doable," and I am sure better than where I am now.

I’m working on learning the difference between intuition and impulse right now.

Quotes and thoughts:
There is no “I,” just a group of subconscious subselves vying to break the surface of consciousness. But it’s an illusion “we” find it impossible to abandon. A nice lessening of the illusion, even if “we” never abandon it, might help this world in general and “ourselves” in particular, though. — Steve Snyder

“Only two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity, and I’m not so sure about the former.” — Albert Einstein

Aim high: Moon the stars and if you fall too short, your bum still gets some fresh air. -- Steve Snyder

Sunday phone-in meetings

From LSRSafe e-mail list:

For the rest of this year:

Call in each Sunday , at 6:00 pm West coast time (Western Hemisphere/United States), 9:00 pm East coast time.
You'll have to know your time zone difference if you live in the middle states.

The number to call is :

219-509-8222
the code to enter is : 78485

I'm guessing this is usable for Canadians as well as Americans.

Folks in other parts of the world might see either if they can call into this system or else if you can set up something… Continue

Question about Seroquel

Beyond the big scandal about it a month or so ago ...

Has anybody here used it? Especially if you had PTSD-related anxiety, did it
help?

Rethinking a job decision

I can't remember how much I discussed it here, vs. e-mail lists, but, I had a job offer a month ago, just a little over a month after I moved to this new job I took because I'm unemployed, and that offer is still "out there." If I can get the owner to agree to wait until the first of the year.

That said, and I know "time takes time," but, I don't feel any better about being where I am now than I did a month ago. I've written about specific issues, with a tentative point scale, as part of a 100-… Continue

Hey Socrates- did your prodding work regarding those pesky neighbours? If you're handy, I suggest mounting a microphone to your wall, attaching it to a speaker, and then echo their irritating noise right back at them... at ear splitting volume! Not only is it good for laughs but it may actually be patentable. Patrick

Lafayette, California is a bosky little suburb about 25 miles due east of San Francisco. It started as a Pony Express stop, and when the University of California was founded at Berkeley, it became a cottage community for many of the faculty, who couldn' t afford the Maybeck houses in Berkeley's tony "hillside club" district. (We bettah off -- those folks are sitting right on top of the Hayward Fault.)
