Look into "Florida Detox or the Amens Clinics...They both have websites....They handle addiction in a very professional, educated, medical and enlightened approach!!

Look into "Florida Detox"....it has a website...My son was hooked on Oxycodin....He went thru their rapid detox program...Pretty amazing. He is doing much better now and has no craving or withdrawal symptoms. I would go into detail but the website...

Its going to be an interesting path considering that most people I know dont think I have a "problem" since I am not "addicted" and "have" to drink every day. I on the other hand definitely know that I am am abusive drinker. I tried moderation... it works for a while, but I still abuse my limits. I think this is the right move for me... I will just need to find activities in the beer capital of the world that dont involve drinking.... now that will be a challenge. All we do here is drink.

I can't even count the number of medications my doctor and I have tried over the years, including the ones you mentioned in your message. Never give up! You just never know what's going to work - stay open-minded. Nothing to lose, right? Risperidone is an anti-psychotic but is prescribed for many things including anxiety, insomnia. It actually has the opposite effect in me, so I take my p.m. pill around 4 p.m. so I can get to sleep fairly easily at 10:30. All the best! Kathy
